Skelwood Kabin

Welcome to Skelwood Kabin, an exquisite newly constructed log cottage nestled in the serene wilderness of Haliburton, Ontario. This picturesque retreat boasts four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and is adorned with rustic charm.

Set upon 1.6 acres of pristine woodland, with a breathtaking 200 feet of shoreline overlooking a tranquil lake, Skelwood Kabin offers a secluded haven for those seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Conveniently located just over two hours from the Greater Toronto Area, this idyllic escape promises an unforgettable family getaway amidst the beauty of nature.

We are located on a beautiful quiet lake (no motorboats or snowmobiles allowed) in a very private forest setting. This is a place for relaxation, no parties or loud music. If you are a loud group this place isn't for you.

Our 4 bedrooms sleep 8 comfortably. All bed linens and bath towels are provided with compliments.

Short walk down the path to our beautiful quiet lake. Enjoy the sun from noon until sunset on our 14x20 floating dock. There is great fishing right from the dock! We provide 2 single kayaks and 2 canoes. 8 adult life jackets are provided, and 1 child life jacket.

*It is shallow around our dock (ranges from 3ft-5ft) with large slate rock, no diving allowed. The swimming is fantastic, gets really deep within a few ft from dock.

*WINTER*

You MUST have 4x4 with good winter tires to access cottage in the winter. We are on a private road that is narrow and hilly. *Photo of steeper hill at the end of the album.

We are located on an unassumed road which is plowed during the colder months. It has a steep hill and 4WD is required in the winter. Although the road is plowed, winter conditions are uncertain and it's possible the roads can be icy. We caution guests to drive slow, and must be comfortable, equipped and acknowledge the inherent risks in the winter environment. We cannot be held liable for any difficulties on the roads or towing fees.
